Pat Hatch pictured scoring in classic centre forward style. Pat and his family had a long association with the Dragons over the decades and his father Jack served this Club as both a player and Chairman over many years while his brother John also played for Wivenhoe.
Pat himself (who as a lad can be seen elsewhere on this site pictured in a 1950’s Wivenhoe Rangers Club photograph) turned out for the team in the 60’s and was a prolifi goalscorer on the local footballing scene having also played for our neighbours Alresford Colne Rangers.
Pat continued to support the Dragons and was a member of the Club’s committee right up until he passed away in February 1990.

Rip mr hatch, I recall you and frank large putting in many an hour at broad lane.
Terrific goalscorer at Alresford – more commonly known by his nickname ‘Chopper’ – quick off the mark and impossible to knock off the ball once in his stride. One of the real old fashioned centre forwards!
